Aoide lives up to her pedigree name: she's a true princess. It was a long wait before she came in to my life and I can’t even express in words how happy I was with her birth and how thankful I am that her breeders trusted her in my care. She has grown up into a beautiful, healthy and friendly little lady. She loves to be petted by humans and is very social with other dogs. Her name isn’t the easiest, but it is definitely Basenji related. Aoide (pronounce: Eey-oo-dee) is the muze of song in the old Greek mythology. I think this is very appropriate for a dog that 'sings'.
Aoide has been active in obedience and agility. Although she isn't really obedient, she does enjoy agility a lot, especially the contacts. At the moment we spend a lot of time at the race track and coursing field. Aoide is an avid hunter, she is fast and agile and has done really well at race and coursing competitions. Aoide has been shown too and has done really well in the ring, earning her German Youth Championship at only ten months and winning BISS puppy twice, to name just a few of her successes. I am very proud of her!

Offspring
Aoide is the mother of the first Suaralayn litter. From this litter I kept her daughter Maeva. Aoide's second and final litter was born at the end of 2018. Finlay was allowed to stay with us and we placed Illy in co-own.
