For Aoide's first litter we decided to use a male who was imported directly from the Congo. As we've written on other pages of our website, we believe it is very important to incorporate the new Africans in the Basenji gene pool. This is why we also chose a high percentage new African male for Aoide's second litter.

Kokojambo's Fani Fulani

The sire of this litter is Kokojambo's Fani Fulani, a male who was bred in Germany and is still living with his breeder. He turned nine years old in November 2018 and is in perfect condition. His mother Avongara Bayutoli was imported from the Congo in 2006 by Fulani's breeder.

I met Fulani for the first time in 2012 and he charmed me right away. He's well built, has a beautiful presence and a very friendly character.

We love Basenjis that show a lot of talent at the race track or lure coursing field and Fulani certainly doesn't disappoint in this department!

Aoide Princess of Burudika

The mother of this litter is our lovely Aoide (Aoide Princess of Burudika). It was her second and final litter. Aoide is a very friendly little lady, to humans and dogs alike. She's a lot of elegance in a tiny package, a real cuddle bug and a fantastic mother. She still takes care of her daughter Maeva and she also helped Maeva when she had her litter in 2017.

Hiking isn't Aoide's biggest hobby, but as soon as there is something to hunt, she's ready for action! She's also an enthusiastic participant at lure coursings and races.

Aoide has been shown and is now Bundes-jugendsiegerin 2012, Dutch and German youth champion and Dutch and German champion.

The puppies

Aoide gave birth to five puppies during the night of 31 December: three boys and two girls were born without any trouble. The pedigree names of the puppies all refer to coffee and tea. We gave the tricolors "coffee names" and the red and whites "tea names". We always give the puppies litter names which refer to the same theme. With this litter all the puppies were allowed to keep their litter name as their official call names!
