Last Saturday was the official opening of the new race track of the WRA. The Basenjis were invited to run a demonstration race to celebrate this. Eleven Basenjis participated in two races. Mirtillo ran in the first race together with five Basenji males. He had a near to perfect start and was first to reach the finish. Definitely something to be proud of! After the races it was time for a breed presentation. Aoide was amongst the lucky ones to present the Basenji. She did so very well trotting around the ring! The day ended with a drag race of about 100 m. Mirtillo ran this race together with four other Basenjis and Aoide got to practise a puppy distance all by herself. She's a very talented hunter for sure ;) We had a wonderful day full of fun and excitement! Pictures can be found by clicking here. The Dutch Basenji Club (BCN) organized an LC training last weekend. There was also a course for the puppies. I think the pictures show clearly how much fun Tillo and Aoide had.
The pictures can be found here. Last Saturday Aoide had her show debut at the club show in Hardenberg. The breed judge was Ms. Zwaartman-Pinster and she was very positive about our young girl. This was her judge report: 4.5 months. A beautiful baby! Very typical head with correct wrinkles. Good ear, eye and expression. Nice muzzle. Good dentition and pigmentation. Excellent angulations in front and hind legs. Excellent topline and tail carriage. Good chest and ribs. Already enough buttock. Beautiful bone and feet. Very aristocratic in total. Good movement and coat. 1 Very Promising, BOB Baby After the breed judging we went to the honor ring for the best in show judging. Aoide did wonderful and ended up as best baby in show! We are very proud of our little lady! Pictures can be found here. Last monday we celebrated Queen's Day and we did so by competing in an agility match organized by our own agility club Speed Almere. The weather was perfect and the company was lovely too! Mirtillo got two DQ's on the first two courses, because he likes to explore the course alone before a serious start.. The last course went great though, no exploring without me, and we became second! Of course, we are very proud of Tillo!
Pictures of him and some of his dog friends can be found here. |
