After a day of showing on Saturday, we had an activity planned on Sunday that's more Mirtillo's 'cup of tea': a competition at the race track in Rotterdam! There were thirteen Basenjis present. Mirtillo ran his first course with Chafuko, Buana and Gaia and he was first at the finish. He ran his second course with Bas, Dana and Yebo and he won that one as well! Then it was time for the finals.. after an exciting race with Moyo and Bas he ended up third out of six! Something to be proud of! It's so wonderful to see how much Mirtillo enjoys his time on the track, even if the weather isn't completely what we wished for... Job made some really nice pictures. You can find them by clicking here. The results of the Basenjis are posted below, together with a selection of Job's pictures. Last Saturday we were in Uden for the international dog show that was held there. It was Aoide's last time in the baby class. We were the first to enter the ring in the morning and Aoide did very well. She was really relaxed and the judge was very positive about our baby girl. Unfortunately, the writer had some problems keeping up with the judge, so we didn't get all the comments on paper, but here is (a part of) the report judge J.C.F. Peddie from Canada citated: Very attractive movement with good drive. Good drive. Good shoulder. Good angulated. Promising head with expression. 1 very promising, BOB Baby The BIS Baby judgement was in the afternoon and it was judged by Mr. A. de Wilde. Aoide presented herself really well. She got selected, was allowed to show her movement one more time and was placed third! Another wonderful result for our princess! Picture: D. Groeneveld Last Saturday there was an international oval racing competition in Lelystad. It was the first competition that organized a Basenji class as well. Allthough it was still unofficial, because our Basenjis haven't got their licences yet, it was nevertheless extremely exciting for us Basenji owners to see our Basenjis compete. Picture: O. Vellekoop There were six Basenjis entered, including our Mirtillo. The Basenjis ran two series of two courses in different combinations and ended with a final with all six Basenjis at the start. Mirtillo won his first two courses, but lost from Moyo in the final. This way he ended up as second overall. Something that made us very proud! The results can be found below and I also added some pictures! We were at the outdoor show in Tilburg today where Aoide presented herself in the baby class. She did really well! Judge was Mrs. A. M. Th. Gielisse and this was her report: 5 month old, very attractive puppy of good size. Presents herself with a lot of temperament and a great posture. Attractive head with beautiful wrinkles. Good ear, good dentition. Puppy is already well developed for her age with good angulation. Still needs some time to stabilize in her front. Good bone. Beautiful colour and coat. Good temper and condition. Very beautiful and soft coat. 1 very promising, BOB Baby In the afternoon we had to go to the honour ring for the BIS judgement. Aoide got selected to the seven best babies, but she wasn't placed. We are very proud of our little lady! Pictures can be found on Flickr. |
