Aoide is 49 days pregnant today. We can hear the puppies' hearts and feel them move around!

Mirtillo and Aoide celebrated their birthdays this month. We always try to go on a nice walk and bring the camera for the occasion. Mirtillo turned seven years on December 19. For his birthday we went to the sand dunes on December 16.
Yesterday Aoide turned three years old. We just moved to a new home and decided to discover a new forest. She enjoyed it to the max, even with her large belly! 
The website hasn't been updated for a while, due to a lack of spare time.. but.. we've got some amazing news to share: Aoide is pregnant! Monday, October 27th, was the first day of Aoide's heat. The following monday we started with the progesterone tests to find the time of ovulation and with that the best time for the mating. Monday November 10th was that day: the progesterone reached >5 ng/ml and we made arrangements to go visit Dr. Blendinger in Germany for the insemination.
After the ultrasound Aoide's belly started to grow. On the picture below you can see she looks already rather 'full' at the moment! She's at 45 days today and we expect her to deliver the puppies around January 11th. We'll schedule to do an X-ray in the week before, so we know how many we can expect!  We've made some lovely walks along the beach in September and October. You can find a selection of the photos below.
Mirtillo en Aoide participated in different race and lure coursing competitions from August to October. August 23 there was a coursing competition in Leek, September 14 we were in Lelystad for an international race track competition, September 27 we had a national coursing competition in Lichtenvoorde and October 4 Mirtillo and Aoide entered an international coursing match in Spaarndam. Aoide won a first place during the coursing competitions in Leek and Lichtenvoorde and Mirtillo won a second place in Lichtenvoorde and Spaarndam. We are already looking forward to next season!
