Monday, October 27th, was the first day of Aoide's heat. The following monday we started with the progesterone tests to find the time of ovulation and with that the best time for the mating. Monday November 10th was that day: the progesterone reached >5 ng/ml and we made arrangements to go visit Dr. Blendinger in Germany for the insemination.
The insemination was done twice, on Wednesday and Thurday. The procedure went fast and problem free and we drove back home that same Thursday evening with a hopefully pregnant Aoide. Then the waiting game started... Is she pregnant... or not..? We got some positive signs, but Friday December 12th brought the definitive answer. We went to the university clinic for an ultrasound and this showed that Aoide was indeed pregnant! We couldn't have been happier, it's an amazing experience to finally know that those long awaited babies will arrive within a few weeks. |
