December 15 we had a Christmas Show in Wijchen. Aoide was entered in the youth class and won her first Dutch youth CAC with a 1 Excellent. Judge was mrs. E. Upmeijer and this was her judge report: "11 months. Robust female. Beautiful type. Good proportions. Clear and chiseled feminine head with nice dark eyes. Scissors bite. Lower jaw could be a fraction stronger. Good wrinkles. Good ear. Beautiful top and under lines. Excellent bone and feet. Good tail. Beautiful coat. Moves smoothly and alert in the ring." Aoide ended up as best female, also winning her first Dutch CAC! Saturday, November 24, was the Amsterdam Winner Show. Of course, Aoide was entered as well. Her breeders came all the way from Poland, together with Aoide's sister Ashti and brother Johnny. The three of them decided soon after being reunited that they still liked eachother, which was lovely to see. Aoide and Ashti were presented in the female youth class, together with two other females. Aoide ended up as third with an excellent. The judge was Laurent Pichard from Switzerland and this was his report: "Very feminine, proper size, 10 months old. Excellent proportions in head, very typy expression. Ribcage ok for age. Proper hindquarters, showing enough strength. Excellent feet. Nice temperament. Still a little unsure when moving. Well presented. Excellent head carriage. Still a little soft in topline" Johnny became BOB Junior and reserve best male. In the afternoon we went to the honour ring to represent Burudika as breeder group. The judge was very enthousiastic about our group and made us BIS breeder group! What an amazing experience! It was a lovely day overall with lovely people! A couple of the pictures can be found below. The rest of the pictures can be found on our Flickr account. Last Sunday we drove all the way to Hannover for an international dog show. It was an opportunity for Aoide to win her third and last point for her German (VDH) youth championship. The judge was Walter Schicker and this was his judge report:
"Builed correctly and for her age well developed. Correctly proportioned head with feminine expression. Correctly positioned, dark eyes. Hooded ears. Wrinkles on forehead. Smooth neck. Straight forelegs. Good coat. Tail is set high and is carried in a curl over the spine. Movement is already very well coordinated" Aoide got a 1 Excellent and earned her third JCAC, which makes her a brand new German Youth Champion at the age of only 10 months! We are so very proud of her! Unfortunately we left the camera in the car, so no pictures of Aoide during the show. I did add the beautiful stack photo of Aoide that was made during the international Grand Prix coursing. A week ago on Friday we drove to Germany for a show weekend in the Westfalenhallen in Dortmund. The Bundessieger was held on Saturday and the National show on Sunday. We entered Aoide for both shows and her brother Johnny was present at the Bundessieger on Saturday. Janneke was allowed to show Johnny in the ring and did this with nice results: he won the youth class with an excellent and won the title "Bundesjugendsieger 2012". After the judging of the males it was Aoide turn to enter the ring. She did very well too. Judge was Dr. Rafael de Santiago from Puerto Rico and this was his description of Aoide: "9 months. Correct type. Correct bite. Correct placed ears. The back is level. Tail is set high. High on withers. Loose in the front, but moves well" Aoide got a '1 Excellent' and is now allowed to add the title "Bundesjugendsiegerin 2012" to her name. Because Johnny and Aoide both won the youth class, they had to compete against eachother for best junior of the breed. We are very proud that Aoide was choosen as BOB junior! Besides winning the titles "Bundesjugendsieger" and "Bundesjugendsiegerin" Johnny and Aoide are now also qualified to enter Crufts 2013! And they won their first youth points for the German VDH youth championship and German Club (BKD) youth championship. On Sunday was the national show. Again Aoide was presented in the youth class. This time the judge was mr. Damir Skok from Hungary. This is what he thought of Aoide: "Excellent type and size. Very nice head and front. Level topline. Excellent angulation and movement" Aoide got a '1 Excellent' and won her second VDH JCAC and her second BKD JCAC. After winning her class, she had to compete against the best youth male for best junior in breed and Aoide won! As BOB junior she was allowed to compete with the best male and best female from the adult classes.. and again she won! Her first BOB win! We are of course extremely proud! In the afternoon we had to enter the honour ring for the Best of Group judgement. Aoide behaved perfectly, but was not selected. The experience to present our breed in the main ring was nevertheless a good one. Pictures can be found on the website of Burudika and on our Flickr account. Yesterday was the Dutch Basenji Speciality in Zaltbommel. Aoide was entered in puppy class for the last time. She was first with a very promising and became best puppy in show! This was her second time that she became best puppy in show at a speciality!
The judge was Mr. H. van den Berg and this was his opinion about Aoide: "8 months. Beautiful total image. Very well presented. Elegant and compact. Dark, obliquely placed eyes. Good ear carriage. Good wrinkles on skull. Good proportions between skull and muzzle. Could use a bit more forechest. Tight/strong back. Good rear/hindquarters. Beautiful coat. Excels in movement." In the afternoon we entered Aoide and Mirtillo in the sweepstakes. Aoide won 'Best coat colour' and Mirtillo had the 'Best wrinkles'. Of course we also let the dogs course on the coursing field behind the show ground! We had a lovely day! Aoide BIS Puppy II Last Saturday we were in Alkmaar for the national dog show. There were three Basenjis entered and Aoide was alone in puppy class. Judge was Mrs. P.C. Zwaartman-Pinster and this was her opinion of Aoide: "8 month old girl. Gracious total image. Very feminine. Nice head, good muzzle, ear, wrinkles and expression. Good pigmentation and bite. Good angulation. Already a good topline. tailset and buttock. Already sufficient chest and ribs. Fitting bone. Front legs need to become a bit stronger. Good coat and movement." Aoide got 1 Very Promising and was allowed to show herself in the main ring in the afternoon for best puppy in show. Judge was Mrs. E. Upmeijer and she placed Aoide as second best puppy in show!! We are so proud of our little princess! Pictures of Aoide can be found below. The pictures of the other Basenjis present can be found here. Last weekend we were in Hamburg for the 35 year anniversary of the German Basenji club. There was a show on Saturday and a race on Sunday, both organized at the race track in Hamburg. There were 46 Basenjis entered for the show. We entered Aoide for the puppy class and her sister Ariniti and brother Johnny were also present. Johnny was shown by Janneke in puppy class males. They were placed third. Pilot George, owned by Aoide's breeder, became first in that same class! In the early afternoon it was Aoide's turn. She showed herself perfectly and became first in her class! Judge was Jon Curby (USA, Kibushi Basenjis) and this was what he thought about Aoide: "Excellent outline, short back, lots of leg. Excellent head, small dark eyes, short muzzle, lots of wrinkles. Good tailset. Could have little more angulation in front, rear angulation is ideal. Going, coming and side movement is excellent and smooth with nice level topline." After the class judgement it was time for Pilot George and Aoide to enter the ring to see who would become best puppy of the show. Aoide showed really well again and became BOB/BISS Puppy! We are extremely proud of her! At the end of the afternoon there were sweepstakes. Here the dogs are judged on specific details, like their ears or coat. Aoide won 'Best Paws' and Johnny won 'Best Wrinkles' and 'Best Red/White'. It sure was a great day for Burudika's A litter! On Sunday was the race. Of course our Mirtillo was entered as well. He ran together with his nieces Aloua and Aminouh. In the first run Mirtillo was the first to cross the finish line. In the second course Aminouh won. The placement was based on the best time and dogs and bitches were separated. Mirtillo became fourth best male! A very nice achievement! The puppies were allowed to run a straight run. Aoide ran her first run with Ariniti, Johnny and Pilot George. She didn't mind the others at all and enjoyed chasing the lure. She ran alone during her second run. She was whining at the start and showed that she knows what to do at the track! Our little talent! Pictures of the show can be found by clicking here. The pictures of the race can be found here. |
